Title: “Synthesis and Study of Fluorescent Saccharide Receptors” Institute of life science, HCU campus Collaboration with Dr. Reddys Laboratories, Hyderabad under the guidance of Dr. Javed Iqbal in .M.S. Pharm as a part of curriculum. Period: 10 month Co-guide: Dr. Marina S. Rajaduari, Junior Research Scientist Institute of Life Science Description: The molecular design of artificial receptors, which show high affinity and high selectivity comparable with natural systems, has recently become a very active research area. In current project work we are particularly interested in design and synthesis of fluorescent molecules for sugar recognition, which particularly can be useful for the diagnosis of different carbohydrate metabolism related disorders. Designed Saccharide sensors contain a 1,-8-naphthyridine derivatives as a fluorescence reporters and boronic acid group which can bind to diols through reversible boronate formation, leading to fluorescence changes. Different approaches for introduction of boronic acid have been employed and a number of novel synthetic scaffolds have been developed. (B. Pharm.) Title: “A Review of Wound Healing on Liquorice” in .B. Pharm. Period: 6 month Description: Wound healing is a complex biologic process that involves chemo taxis and division of cells, synthesis of extra cellular matrix proteins, and remodeling of scar. Peptide growth factors that are involved in wound healing are epidermal growth factor (EGF), transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), insulin-like growth factor (IGF), and fibroblast growth factor (FGF).This project is about to determine the extract of wound healing in Liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra).
